How it works

  1. Step 1

    Your missionary adds one address

They add your family’s Dearhome address to their weekly email once. Nothing to install, nothing to forward.

  2. Step 2

    The family opens it together

Each letter arrives in the Dearhome app the week it’s sent. Everyone reads, reacts and writes back.

  3. Step 3

The Mission Book comes home with them

At homecoming, the whole mission is waiting: the book, the digital album and the Homecoming Show.

Both plans include

Every other service starts when the mission ends. Dearhome is with your family the whole time.

  • Only on Dearhome

    The Dearhome app

Every letter lands in the app the week it’s sent. The whole family opens it together, leaves notes and reactions, and answers with photos of home.

  • Only on Dearhome

    Notes from Home

Every note the family leaves arrives in your missionary’s inbox once a week, right before they write home. They’ll see just how many people are cheering them on.

  • While they serve

    A map of their mission

Watch the mission unfold area by area, with every letter pinned where it was written.

  • While they serve

    The farewell kit

A designed card for the farewell program and the ward missionary plaque. Anyone can scan it to join the family circle.

  • At homecoming

    Homecoming Show

One tap plays the whole mission on the TV at the homecoming open house: the journey across the map, the photos and the family’s notes.

  • At homecoming

A digital album of the whole mission

Every letter, every photo and unlimited videos, gathered into one album you can replay and download, long after they’re home.

  • At homecoming

The family’s voice in The Mission Book

Grandma’s notes and Mom’s replies print beside the letters, so the book tells both sides of the mission.

  • At homecoming

    Rescue the mission photos

A guided import of every photo before their mission email account closes after homecoming.

Questions, answered

Everything families ask before they start.

Does our missionary need to do anything?

Just add your family’s Dearhome address to their weekly email list, once. There’s no app for them to install and no links to open.

Who can see the letters?

Only the people you invite. You choose who sees each letter: close family or everyone.

Is Dearhome affiliated with the Church?

No. Dearhome is an independent service and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Can grandparents give it as a gift?

Yes. Anyone can give a Whole Mission or The Mission Book, and we’ll send a card to the family.

What happens if we stop paying?

Nothing you’ve received is lost. Every letter, photo and note stays yours, forever.

Do brothers and sisters get a discount?

Yes. 25% off for each additional missionary on your account, on either plan.

What if they come home early?

We refund the months they didn’t serve. You’re charged the monthly rate for the time they served, and The Mission Book still ships.

What if their mission is extended?

The extra months are free.

What happens after homecoming?

Everything stays in your account for life. Download full-resolution photos and videos anytime, and we’ll help you move them to your own Google Drive or iCloud.

* Whole Mission is available when 6 or more months of the mission remain. With less time left, choose Monthly and add The Mission Book for $99.
